Tori Spelling says her relationship with her stepson Jack blossomed after he 'came out'
Tori Spelling met her stepson Jack when he was just 6 years antique, and he was going through a difficult time for any young kid: divorce.
As Jack celebrates his 21st birthday this week, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum reflected on their relationship in a lengthy Instagram post.
Jack is the son of her husband, Dean McDermott and his ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace.
"I’m gonna embarrass you for a second," the actress started her post.
She wrote that when she and Jack met, he didn't understand her as "Tori Spelling," but just as "the gal his dad was dating."
She loved that he had no idea who she was and called her "Teri."
The two "bonded over dogs, his rabbit DIY school project, tag, hide and explore , and video games," she wrote.
As Jack got older, their relationship continued to develop. She wrote about how Jack was teased by his peers when the two played with Polly Pockets: "We ignored them and laughed and played and had so much fun they eventually asked to join."

Jack, McDermott's son with his ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace, is Spelling's only stepson. Born in 1998, Jack was about eight years old when his dad married Spelling. He was shielded from the spotlight (and his dad's reality TV career) as a youngster, but that changed as he got older and has become more visible. At age 17, Jack publicly came out as gay.

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's fourth child, Finn Davey McDermott, was born in August 2012. Considering the boy is only 10 months older than his younger sister Hattie, it was pretty tough for Spelling to get on top of everything, according to ET Online.
