Inthemidst of promoting his new movie "42," Harrison Ford has opened up about same-sex marriage in a new interview.

The 70-year-old thespian sounds off on the similarities between Jackie Robinson's fight for racial acceptance in major league baseball (as seen in the modern film) and the battle for marriage equality throughout the U.S. and beyond.

"Things do convert quickly at a tipping point, as it builds and it builds and it builds until there’s a moment where the stabilize of opinion, the weight of encounter and the comprehension comes to a point where the scales tip in the other direction," Ford says. "We’re getting there, we’re getting there. You know, you would hope that it would have happened with less resistance."

He then adds, "You would contain hoped that everyone would get the point at the same time, but life’s not appreciate that."
