AJR
The pop band AJR is made up of three brothers named Adam, Jack and Ryan Met. Their songs are hitting the airwaves in a big way most notably with the single “Sober Up” featuring Weezer’s lead singer Rivers Cuomo.
Adam does vocals, bass guitar, Jack is lead vocals, guitar, ukulele, and Ryan does vocals, keyboards and they all play drums among other instruments.
The Click is their second studio album and has them touring around the world. The trio recently played at Mamby on the Beach in Chicago to a lively crowd and they spoke backstage about the current music.
JN: (Jerry Nunn) You are like the Jackson 3 or Haim but men. Did you always sing together as kids?
JM: (Jack Met) We started the band 13 years ago. We started out street perfuming in New York City, where we are from. The street performing identity is so large in New York and we care for music so we thought that was a natural first step.
We took it to the streets trying to get as much wealth as we could. We ended up making enough cash to buy all of the tune equipment we needed. We went support to our living room and made music there. We have been making music there ever since. Even the newest record was

I think I’m pretty unclosed minded, despite disliking many things. I don’t pretend to possess any interest in rap, or trap, or hip-hop. I cringe at dramatic gospel vocals and I’ll never be caught listening to country that doesn’t involve Carrie Underwood killing her ex.
But still, I don’t insult people who listen to those genres. Everyone has different taste and as a good human, it’s good to be sensitive to others’ preferences.
I personally prefer listening to pop music. Occasionally, I’ll indulge in classical melody, or vocaloid, and I complete love a handful of musicals, but nothing makes me happier than an instantly catchy lyric that I can belt for my entire household to bear through.
What classifies as pop has been up in the atmosphere for a while. For example, everyone knows what Katy Perry does is pop music. But what about Twenty One Pilots? Are they pop? Or are they alternative? Or, with Joseph’s screams in “Car Radio”, maybe even rock?
Either way, their songs slap and that’s all I need to know. People may need to categorize them for the purpose of award shows, but you’re always bound to make someone

Since then, the indie-pop trio has establish mainstream success with strike singles like “Weak,” opened up for artists love Demi Lovato and sold out their own U.S. headline tour.
