LGBTQ Rights

The ACLU has a long history of defending the LGBTQ community. We brought our first LGBTQ rights case in 1936. Founded in 1986, the Jon L. Stryker and Slobodan Randjelović LGBTQ & HIV Project brings more LGBTQ rights cases and advocacy initiatives than any other national organization does and has been counsel in seven of the nine LGBTQ rights cases that the U.S. Supreme Court has decided. With our reach into the courts and legislatures of every declare, there is no other organization that can match our record of making progress both in the courts of law and in the court of public opinion.

The ACLU’s current priorities are to end discrimination, harassment and force toward transgender people, to close gaps in our federal and state civil rights laws, to prevent protections against discrimination from organism undermined by a license to discriminate, and to defend LGBTQ people in and from the criminal legal system.

Breaking down barriers that divide us

We are more influential together than apart, and we’ve never been more energized or more focused. Our work centers on three pillars of activity to end discrimination and fight for change at every level — and for every single one of us.

Making history is what we do!

Since 1980, we’ve led the way in fighting for Queer equality and inclusion.

Fronts for Equality

People who pay for this newsletter do two things.

  1. They help hold this newsletter free for everyone because information about LGBTQIA+ lives shouldn't be a luxury.
  2. They fund our worksupporting a new generation of queer creatives to begin and build their media career.

Our members know that our newsletter is more than a nice read. It's where we commission and publish the work of the queer creatives we're mentoring.

Our approach means you get a top-quality read, held to the highest standards while helping to change the media landscape with a new generation of lgbtq+ creatives.

We're doing this because the media doesn't represent, hire or understand us - it's failing us.

By helping underrepresented writers to build their media careers together we can change the media so it works for all LGBTQIA+ people.

Right now we own a 40% early adopter discount, which means you can chip in just £4.20 a month to make this possible, acquire a shout out on our socials and have early access to our content.

We've only been around since January 2022, but very cool people like comedian Joe Lycett, the MD of Forbes in Europe, and the
