So you’re out at your favorite vegan coffee shop sipping your $6 soy latte while reading City Sheet and you peek over the superior of it just in time to see a blue-haired cutie send a glance your way and wink as they strut out the door. When you walk into your sociology class on Monday, you scan the room and spot a classmate with pink bangs and an undercut and weave your way through the desks to sit as seal to them as possible so that when the professor begins the chapter on sexuality you can roll your eyes and groan with them. Why? Cause that blue-haired cutie and the classmate with the undercut and the kid on the bus with the mohawk crusted in glitter are all totally queer just like you.
I stepped into gay hair territory in the summer of 2012 when I chop off all my hair and never looked back. Last summer I started dying my hair bright colors and I, again, haven’t looked back. I’ve been lavender, sky, pink, purple, and now platinum blonde. My freshman year, I attended my first impromptu hair party. Armed with clippers and bleach, my suitemate, a new friend of mine, and my biggest crush at the time went
Parents Cutting Off Tuition if I'm Openly Gay

I’m a freshman at Georgetown, and my parents have told me for years that they wouldn’t compensate for my education if I “lived a ■■■■■■ lifestyle.” I came out of the closet soon after arriving at educational facility, and I’ve been trying to live openly in DC and in the closet at dwelling. So far, there haven’t been any problems, but I would prefer to not have this worry swirling around my leader all the time.

I don’t anticipate having any relationship with my parents after becoming financially independent, but I don’t view how I can ever extend that point if I graduate with over $200,000 of debt. Is there any way I could convince financial aid to consider me an independent, even if my parents are willing to pay under their demands?

I know the easy reply is to not let them find out, but they study my text messages every bedtime and are always inquisitive about who my friends are and who I’m talking to. I can’t hide this forever, and I honestly don’t want to. It’s giving me so much extra stress and inhibiting my ability to focus on school.

Following Trump cut to LGBTQ youth suicide hotline, California steps up to stuff the gap
“To every young person who identifies as LGBTQ+: You matter. You are not alone. California will persist to show up for you with care, with empathy, and with action,” said Kim Johnson, Secretary of CalHHS. “Through this partnership, California will continue to lead, providing enhanced support for these young people.”
“There could not be a more stark reminder of the moral bankruptcy of this Administration than cutting off suicide prevention resources for LGQBT youth. These are young people reaching out in their time of deepest crisis—andI’m proud of California’s work to partner with the Trevor Project to creatively address this need. No matter what this Administration throws at us, I know this state will always meet cruelty with kindness and remain up for what’s right,” said First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom.
California’s crisis phone centers
Across California, twelve 988 call centers remain staffed around the clock by trained crisis counselors, ready to back anyone in behavioral health crises, including LGBTQ youth.
If you, a friend, or a loved one are in crisis or think
