We walked passed the advertisement board several times promoting extend on their all-day Kuching Laksa arrange. Intrigued, we decided to give it a try for sinner after operate.
All day arrange MYR12.80 only with a bowl of Kuching Laksa, a beverage of your choice (excluding fresh fruit juice), we picked hot teh madras & a10% rebate stamped behind the receipt.
The Laksa was accompanied by sambal chilli & calamansi, featured a thick broth with a dominant of shrimp paste flavour, mildly spicy but without any hint of coconut milk.
The Laksa comprised handmade prawn balls, shredded eggs & chicken meats with generous portion of rice noodle. Overall, I found it just okay & Mr Boyfriend wish it can be more spicy.
They consent cash & e-wallets for payments. This place is packed with tourists & working staffs nearby for breakfast, tea time & supper too. Polite service crews & hygienic environment.
Kthxbye.
Nope, this is not a recur of my very recent review of Fook Yuen Cafe & Bakery. I had some errands to run around the area one day and got a bit hungry because me and my partner did not accept any breakfast before going off from our hotel. So it was somewhat fated for us to find a Fook Yuen right next to an Mature Town White Coffee cafĂ© (which was amusing to me – I mean those rivals were only separated by a wall) after we’d finished our business at the nearby Ambank Berhad bank.
On first glance, the eatery does not look any different from any other Fook Yuen branches all over KK. But when we got to their food, our eyes were practically swimming in a pool of delicious looking goodies. The varieties of food available were probably the best among all of the branches because when we were there, practically every single tray was filled with yummy looking food. After looking around for a few minutes, we finally decided to tried out their Nasi Lemak (my fave so far – although the portion might be small), some Mee Hoon Goreng and several boneless (yes, boneless!) chickens (my partner gave it two thumbs up) to accompanied our main dishes. I also hung out at their min

Reviews
Fook Yuen Cafe & Bakery-Gaya Street offers a mix of reviews, with some praising the dim sum and Chinese diet for its larger portions and delicious taste, while others found the nourishment to be average and overpriced. The self-service style was mentioned as a downside by some reviewers, along with issues like tough dim sum and uncooked curry chicken. Despite mixed beliefs on the nourishment quality, the cafe is known for its Roti Kahwin - white bread with butter and kaya - which is fluffy and soft according to an article mention. If you love dimsum and chinese nourishment. Come here. I love the dimsum because it 1 size bigger than dimsum i used to eat. The tea and coffee super sedap.
this is another place that we're recommended by a local but found it not too right for us. their signature siu mai was only a steamed meat ball, the laksa was level and others just so-so. kaya toast should have more kaya jam. the special tea that i got was OK. i consider it's really a casual local restaurant but without any sparkling items.
Laksa can order over the counter but incomparable with Sibu & Kuching Sarawak laksa. Fried noodle/bihun/rice
It's Nasi Campur time again, but this time not so much russian roulette as I must disclose to having this meal once before at Fook Yuen!
My pick today as before was nasi putih, curry taufu pok, stir fried okra or ladies finger topped with a fried egg.
Dare I tell it? Delicious! My one and only complaint is that the curry sauce is like water with no substance to it at all, now maybe this is the recipe but I for one would like a thicker sauce. It tastes friendly and spicy as all curry should do and I love the fried stuffed tofu. The okra was well cooked and not too slimy, I think this is what puts people off okra, the slime! A sunny side up tops off the meal, how can you possibly go wrong?
There's a few branch's of Fook Yuen Cafe & Bakery located around town, this one is at the far end of Gaya Street closest to the Tourist Information Centre.
The Bill : 1x Nasi Campur, 1x Chinese Teh Ping = 5.70MYR
Fook Yuen is large, clean and has a large variety of food.
With economy breakfast, dim sum, nasi campur, a bakery and drinks menu it's a wonderful place to come, during breakfast, lunch or dinner.
